Chenille is a soft, velvety pile knit, so most people wear it over bare arms with no issue. There's no scratchy wool feel to it.

Will it stretch out of shape after a few wears?
Chenille is a thicker, heavier knit, so it hangs with weight rather than sagging. Wash it cold and hang dry to keep the shape.

Does it close, or is it open-front only?
It's designed as an open-front layer. That's what gives you the long vertical line down the middle, which is what makes it read relaxed rather than bulky.

Does chenille shed or pill?
Chenille can shed a little the first wear or two as loose pile settles. Turn it inside out for washing and avoid rough velcro or handbag hardware to keep the surface smooth.
